Could you please share a brief history of Curaco?
"Cura" in "Curaco," which is the name for our company and our product, is a Latin word that means "care." Established in 2007, for over 15 years, Curaco has concentrated its capacity on researching and producing excretion assistance robots (product name: Carebidet) for bedridden patients. Demonstrating excellent technology, our company has applied for and registered a total of 105 patents to date. In addition, we have obtained the US FDA, European CE, Japanese PSE, and ISO certifications and received the Innovation Award at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in Las Vegas, USA, in 2020. Our company has also attracted investments from a wide range of investors in recognition of our outstanding technology.
Please briefly explain the features and advantages of the excretion assistance robot Carebidet.
Curaco's Carebidet is the only product on the market that has a dual function as a bidet and sterilization system in a condition where the patient's body can be lifted up to an angle of 30 degrees or more. It has the world’s first diaper cups that are uniquely designed in consideration of the patient's gender and fit to the human body. The device can reduce the sense of shame that bedridden patients can have regarding the need to urinate or defecate, as well as prevent the infection of the patients and their caregivers, by providing improved hygiene through air purification and sterilization functions. Carebidet detects urination and defecation using the built-in sensor and treats the excrement immediately, cleaning and warm-air drying the patient's body with the bidet function. The entire process is performed automatically, without emitting foul odor, which is one of its biggest advantages.
What are your plans regarding advancement into overseas markets, direction, or blueprint for the future business?
Currently, our products are exported to over 20 countries around the world, including the United States and Japan. Carebidet is registered as a procured product in Hong Kong as well as in Korea. In Japan, it has been designated as a welfare medical device in the social care insurance system, so 90% of the purchase or rental cost is supported by the government. We have pushed ahead with the advancement into the markets in Russia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Southeast Asia, in addition to the US, Europe, and Japan. Our goal is to become a good social enterprise that brings back happiness and smiles to patients and their families with our Carebidet.
