Gyeonggi-do sent Gyeonggi-do Healthcare Delegates consisting of 20 healthcare representatives from four healthcare institutes in the province including ▲Korea University Ansan Hospital ▲Myongji Hospital ▲Bundang Jesaeng Hospital and ▲Wiltse Memorial Hospital to attract foreign patients from Uzbekistan and provide a base for healthcare institutions to enter foreign markets.

In Uzbekistan, the delegates hosted various events including the “Medical Gyeonggi Conference,” “Medical Gyeonggi B2B (Business-to-business e-commerce) Business Forum,” and “Medical Gyeonggi Patient Seminar” to share the excellent and advanced healthcare technology of the province with healthcare experts in Uzbekistan and medical tourism agency staff members. The four healthcare institutions that sent delegates signed MOUs with the provincial cancer center at Tashkent, Uzbekistan, to continue cooperation in the healthcare sector.

On September 23, Gyeonggi-do invited healthcare trainees from Uzbekistan who had previously visited Gyeonggi-do to Lotte Hotel in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and hosted the “Gyeonggi-do Healthcare Training Program Alumni Night” to provide an opportunity for alumni to socialize together and to promote interpersonal exchanges. The province will continue to implement various projects to support and facilitate healthcare technology entering foreign markets via human networks.

Also, by opening a joint Gyeonggi-do booth at the “UzMed Expo 2022” that will take place in Uzbekistan from September 21 to 23, Gyeonggi-do healthcare industry will be actively assisted in efforts to establish a presence in Uzbekistan.

The Gyeonggi-do companies that were supported by the provincial government with the booth are five companies working with x-rays and healthcare gas supply devices. All companies had meetings with Central Asian buyers who visited the expo and were afforded the opportunity to explain their products and encourage purchases.
