Gyeonggi Medical Delegation Visits Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia,
to Promote Collaborative Projects with the Center of Health Development
The Gyeonggi health and medical delegation visited Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from August 26 to 29, 2024, to jointly promote various collaborative projects with the Center of Health Development (CHD) of Mongolia.
Since signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for health and medical cooperation in August 2023, Gyeonggi Province and the CHD have been actively promoting mutual visits, inviting Mongolian medical professionals for clinical training, and conducting short-term training programs for nursing staff.
This visit was conducted to enhance mutual cooperation in the health and medical fields between the two regions, promote joint projects, and foster more sustainable and long-term collaboration in the future.
The medical delegation included seven medical institutions from Gyeonggi Province, such as Soonchunhyang University Hospital Bucheon, Korea University Ansan Hospital, Bundang Jesaeng General Hospital, National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital, Shihwa Medical Center, Wiltse Memorial Hospital, and Bucheon Sejong Hospital, along with meerecompany, which participated to collaborate in the field of advanced robotic surgery equipment.
On the morning of August 27, the two organizations held a Korea-Mongolia Joint International Medical Conference on the first floor of the CHD in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, attended by around 50 local medical professionals and representatives from medical schools. Five medical professionals from both regions participated as representatives in the conference, where they presented and discussed current issues in health and medical technology between the two countries, fostering an exchange of ideas.
On the evening of Wednesday, August 28, a ‘Medical Gyeonggi Alumni Association and Networking Night’ event was held at the Novotel in Ulaanbaatar, inviting medical professionals who had previously visited medical institutions in Gyeonggi Province at the province’s invitation to network. In addition, the Gyeonggi Province medical delegation conducted patient consultation sessions for local patients in Ulaanbaatar, promoting Korean medical services in Mongolia.
Gyeonggi Province plans to continue promoting various collaborative projects to ensure the ongoing exchange and cooperation in the health and medical fields between Korea and Mongolia, focusing on its partnership with the CHD.
