Gyeonggi Province Participates in Kazakhstan International Medical Tourism Fair for 10 Consecutive Years, and Visits Kyrgyzstan This Year!

Gyeonggi Province participated for the 10th consecutive year in the ‘Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF) 2024,’ the largest medical tourism and industry event in Central Asia, showcasing outstanding medical institutions in the province.

KITF 2024, held for three days from April 24 to 26, took place at the Atakent Exhibition Center in Almaty, the economic hub of Kazakhstan. During the fair, not only officials from Kazakhstan but also neighboring countries such as Uzbekistan, Russia, and Turkey gathered.

Gyeonggi Province’s medical promotion hall set up a booth with the theme of ‘Treatment in Korea’ (Лечение в Корее) inside the exhibition hall. With the exception of 2020-2022 when the expo business was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19, the province has participated 10 times consecutively since 2012.

In this expo, a total of 11 medical institutions from Gyeonggi Province (such as the Catholic University of Korea Bucheon St. Mary’s Hospital, Ajou University Hospital, Korea University Ansan Hospital, Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, National Health Insurance Services Ilsan Hospital, Sam Medical Center, Sejong Hospital, Wiltse Memorial Hospital, Gangnam Women’s Hospital, Bundang Jesaeng General Hospital, and Sihwa Medical Center) participated and made a full effort to promote Gyeonggi Province’s medical technology.

During the expo period, over 2,000 people visited the Gyeonggi Province booth, and there were consultations between Gyeonggi Province medical institutions and agencies, resulting in the signing of memoranda of understanding (MOUs) and other achievements.

During the expo, participating medical institutions hosted the ‘2024 Medical Gyeonggi Business Forum’ in Kazakhstan, engaging in networking with Kazakhstani agencies.

Especially this year, they visited Kyrgyzstan during the same period, holding business meetings to firmly establish the brand of Gyeonggi Medical within Central Asia.

A Gyeonggi Province official stated, “Leveraging Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan as bases for attracting patients, it will provide an opportunity for Gyeonggi Province to more actively engage in international medical business.”
